So Incredible.

Okay, I want you ALL to check out this girl. Sarah Rhoads. Her link is on my blog list. Sarahrhoadsphotography. She's AMAZING. She mostly shoots engagement photos and weddings but every now and then she'll do some fashion and family photos. She even shoots for bands and stuff. How do I know her? I went to high school with her (she even tried dating my sort-of-but-not-really ex-boyfriend, I'm sure some of you know what kind of situation I'm talking about). Anyway, she has the best personality ever. She's just an amazing photographer and she's totally inspired me. I've always been really into photography, reading here and there, waiting for the day to come when I could get a REAL camera. Well, since seeing her stuff it's pushed me to just take that next step. So I bought a camera. I'm in the process of buying editing software, lighting, etc. Hopefully soon I'll be able to take a few classes/workshops. It's a really expensive hobby but hopefully it'll turn into more than that. So look at her stuff and just be ready for some of the best engagement/wedding photos you'll ever see.

The Weekend

So for once we did something every single day of the weekend. I mean, it's fun having a family night one day out of the weekend but every once in a while it's nice to fill every minute of the weekend up with fun.

Let's start with Thursday night. Levi won tickets to the pre-season Jazz game from a radio station. He didn't really have to do anything, they were advertising it on Facebook and he just had to be one of the first 50 to respond and he was! So we got free appetizers at Z Tejas (so good) and got to watch a free game! On the train ride home I definitely got hit on by this little nerdy boy who was a freshmen in college. It was AWESOME! haha. So Levi, being the hilarious husband that he is (not) tried his hardest to hide his wedding ring so he wouldn't know we were married. Anyway, I felt so bad for the guy 'cause it took a lot of guts but, I just wasn't feelin' it.
(^Me on the train ride down, psyched for the game)
(^this is Levi giving me a dirty look 'cause this was the 4th time attempting to take a picture of him standing in front of the court)

Friday night we went to a Jordan High School football game. Yup, that's right. We hung out with all of the awesome high schoolers. It was so weird being back to that kind of a crowd and seeing how all the high schoolers cared so much about what people thought of them and how they looked and stuff. But also, seeing how they just didn't care what adults thought and had their fun. It was actually pretty fun, though. I didn't go to Jordan and I was never a cheerleader but I was still having fun making up cheers. "Jordan is Dynamite, Jordan is Dynamite, Go, Go, Go Jordan!" That's a cheer, right?
(^Shane and Heidi at the game)

(^Levi and me looking GREAT at the game)

(^Here's Adam and... ohhh, poor Adam)

Saturday during the day my nephew had his 1st birthday party. It was so cute. Sadly, though, he burned his finger on the candle and started crying during "Happy Birthday". So it took him a little bit to trust the cupcake after that. But he got the cutest clothes and some sweet toys, it was awesome.
Saturday night Levi and I hosted a World Series party. It was fun. I don't have any pictures but I'm sure you guys can use your imaginations. We were pretty much eating, sitting and watching the game. It was a good time. Boo all you other people who couldn't come! I kid. We didn't want you there anyway. HAHAHAHA!

Happy Birthday Claire!

I know, I know, I've read lots of blogs that say, "Wow, I can't believe it's been a year already!" but it's true!! I really can't believe it. Levi and I were saying how it's weird that we were married for 3 years before Claire even came but it seems like she's just always been in our family. She's just always been apart of our lives, and that's how I know she was meant to be in our family. We have been SO blessed to have her with us and every day we are so grateful for her presence. (that sounded lame but I didn't know how else to say it). Everyone's blessed with a talent and hers right now by far is making everyone smile. No matter where we are and no matter who sees her everyone always ends up smiling because of her. She brings joy to everyone's lives and it makes me happy to see her at work. She's one of the smartest babies I know. She loves to be read to more than anything, she's starting to understand things that I say, and she's starting to give hugs and kisses and I love it. Oh, and did I mention that she LOVES throwing things down the stairs? She's doing it as I'm typing right now.

Anyway, to celebrate her day of birth (ha ha) on Thursday we had a little party for her. She got a lot of books, which was AWESOME and a few toys.

Cheyenne got her a shopping cart and she insists on sitting in it. So I put her in it and run around outside pushing her.
My mom got her a little piano and she stomps her foot whenever the music comes on.

On her actually birthday, on Friday, Levi left work early to come home and have a family day for Claire's birthday. We went to Wheeler Historic Farm and Claire loved it! She mostly loved walking along the dirt paths and playing with the leaves but she also loved the animals. At first she was a little hesitant but then she warmed up and kept wanting to go look at them. It was such a great day! That place is so awesome for little kids, plus it's free, which is even cooler.
We love our Bear more than anything in the world and we're so glad she's here with us!! I just hope I don't screw anything up.

Battle Wound

Last night was just like any other night when I go to the store. Get what I need and get out. Or so I thought...

It all started out fine, I walked safely into the store, no cars running me over, no tripping over untied shoelaces, no creep stalking me. I started walking towards what I needed: Cheese and Lettuce. I go down an aisle to get there and I see something I need: Baby Food. So I grab it. I finally make it to the cheese and move right along. On my way to the lettuce I go down another aisle and see something else I need: Nestle's Quik. While I'm walking towards it I drop the baby food jar. It breaks, food goes everywhere, I may have said a swear word, who knows. I also got a piece of glass in my finger and I start to bleed.  Now, being the good Harmon's shopper that I am, I go find a clerk and tell them about the mess. That "someone" must have dropped "something". What? Shut up.

So I make my way down another aisle to get some V8 fusion, yet another thing that wasn't on the list. I pick that up with one hand, it slips, I try to catch it with that same one hand (the other arm is full with other things I probably didn't need... besides the cheese, of course) and my softball skills do NOT kick in, so I drop that as well. In that split second it was falling to the floor I think, oh, it's plastic, it should just bounce off the floor. NOPE. The top shoots off and juice goes everywhere. I'm sure I said another swear word or two and I quickly picked up the bottle and with my face as red as can be, I darted out of the aisle as fast as I could making sure no one saw me. This time, I left without being a good Harmon's shopper, head down, telling no one. I quickly grabbed the lettuce and went to the farthest check out from the aisle as possible. I safely got back into my car, looked in the mirror to see if I looked as shocked as I felt and noticed I had blood on my face. How awesome to top the experience off. If I had known Harmon's was going to declare war on me I would have sent Levi.

Time to Vent

Okay, so I always knew that Bill Mahar was anti-religious. I never cared, never watched his show, if I saw him on television, I'd just ignore him or turn the channel. I never care when anyone's  anti-religious, they're allowed to have their opinions, everyone is allowed! But it REALLLLLLYY makes me mad when they don't allow US to have OUR own opinions. I know they don't think religious people don't have their own opinions, they just have the opinions of whomever is telling them what to think. SO not true, for me anyway.

So the reason I'm so mad is because Levi came home today and told me about the movie that Bill Mahar made making fun of religious folk. I didn't think much of it because it didn't really surprise me, that's what he does best. But then, Levi proceeded to inform me that Bill Mah-I-Wanna-Gag got a hold of something extremely sacred to LDS members and showed them in his movie. He even gave them an oh-so-clever nickname. HAHA you're so freaking funny. Anyway, sorry if I seem so angry, but this is something very important to me. I don't care if he doesn't believe in the Mormon religion, I don't care if he thinks we're weird, but to put crap that means so much to a lot of people in a movie for the whole world to see is just so hurtful. I'm not even ashamed or embarrassed, just hurt!

I could never imagine doing something even remotely like that to anyone. I really just needed to vent. That's all. I'll get over it, I don't tend to stay angry for a long amount of time at all. I used to get harrassed and made fun of ALL the time for being Mormon, so I'm used to that. But this just got way out of hand.

It just makes me realize even more that I need to be sensitive to other peoples beliefs and opinions on how they choose to live their life. We don't need anymore people like Bill Mahar trying to make others feel bad for what they believe in. Grow up and find something more productive to do.

Oh how I loveth thee!

Levi's and my joke is that when we say "I love you" we say "Oh how I loveth thee." Don't ask me how it started or why we think it's so dang funny, it's just one of those things between a couple. I know you all have them too. Anyway, I DO love Levi. I just wanted to send a shout-out to him. You may be asking yourself, "Why? Is it his birthday? Is it your anniversary? Did he win the hottest dad EVER award?" Well, no, no, and YES he did! But also, because he's freaking awesome, that's why. He's such a great dad and a wonderful husband. He ALWAYS sticks up for me and always tries so hard to make me feel better when I'm sad. He's so patient with Claire and he teaches her so much! She's done pretty much all of the big firsts with him, not me, the mom. You know, the one who's ALWAYS with her, who tries to teach her over and over again how to do something and then when she decides to do it, it just so happens to be with Levi. Yeah, anyway, she just loves him and gets so excited when he gets home and so do I. That's one good thing about having his muffler on his car fall off, I can always hear when he gets home before he walks in the door. Anyway, you all should be SOO jealous that I'm married to him. Not really, you all have great guys as well. I'm just very fond of this lad.
