Claire-6 months iMac-2 days

Claire is 6 months now! Well, she has been since Thursday but that's just a minor detail. We had her 6 month check-up today and it went very well! The doctor was impressed with how she's been growing and progressing with her milestones and whatnot, so that's good news! She's in the 75th percentile for her height, 80th percentile for her weight and 83rd percentile for her head! She's a big girl... I figure it just gives us more of her to love!

Here's what Claire's been up to:
-She can sit up and play with toys completely on her own.
-She's graduated to stage 2 foods--fruits and vegetables only, though.
-She can stand up on her own (with a little balancing help from me).
-She talks A LOT, baby language, of course.
-She kicks, squeals and giggles while watching Baby Einstein.
-Puts everything in her mouth, EVERYTHING.
-Her favorite foods are Prunes, Applesauce, Bananas and Peaches. (we're still working on the vegetables and with the new stage 2 foods she may have more/new favorites!)
-She can roll over from tummy to back and back to tummy very easily.
-She loves being outside, whenever I open the door to go out she kicks and smiles.
-She loves being around a lot of people. She's always in a way better mood when it's not just us two.
-She sleeps 12 hours (but then again, she has been since 3 1/2 months)
-She apparently hates going to the movies, haha.
-SHE LOVES HER MOM AND DAD SOOOOOOO MUCH SHE CAN'T STAND IT!

This whole mom thing is the greatest thing. I never imagined it being this wonderful. Instead, I dreamed it (for real... and I'm not a weirdo) and ever since then I've wanted a baby. She's growing too fast, though. I look at her and can't believe how big she's getting. It's so exciting but sad at the same time and I'm trying my hardest to appreciate her, live in the moment with her, and just love her as much as possible. I just want her to stay little forever. Another 6 months and she'll most likely be walking, especially at the pace she's going right now. How weird is that!?!? But we'll have fun together. I can't wait to teach her to walk, run, play catch and lots of other things! But for now, she's still my little baby and I'll cherish that for as long as I can.
On a completely different note; Levi and I got a new iMac! I loooovveeee it!!! Levi's not as excited about it as I am, but then again, I love technology more than he does.
The screen is huge and the keyboard is tiny! It's the best thing. And what makes it even more enjoyable is that we got 400 dollars off of it! We bought refurbished so they fixed any problems it may have had, which, in my opinion, makes it better than before, and it knocks off some of the price. I highly suggest getting one. It's the best thing ever... Looks and performance.

Marathon

Okay, so this morning I went running and I crossed the path of the SLC marathon runners. There were a TONNNN of people running, it took me forever to cross the street 'cause I had to wait for an opening. But what made me feel good was that I saw lots of people struggling and walking. Ok, that sounds weird, I don't like seeing people struggling or anything, but it gave me hope to run a marathon. I've always wanted to but I always thought that amazing runners ran marathons, ya know? So I never wanted to run one 'cause I didn't want to look pathetic. Now that I know that's not the case, I REALLY want to run one. Now, if I'm not mitsaken, there's a Park City half-marathon in August or September. If there's ANYONE who wants to do it with me, please let me know. I think it would be so much fun and then maybe the next time I could do a full marathon. I'd just like to start with the half to get used to the feeling of everything. Okay, so let me know if you're interested!

This and That

Two Saturdays ago, (ya know, when it WASN'T snowing in April??) Levi, Claire, and I went to the park! We went on the swings, went down a slide and laid in the sun. Claire just LOOOVES going on the swings. She giggles and smiles so much, it's the cutest thing ever. If you have a baby and haven't done that yet, I highly suggest it. Oh how I wish the weather would stay nice.

::Deleted a stupid Narnia joke::

Last sunday we ate over at Levi's parents house and saw Cheyenne before she left for France (said with an accent) for two weeks. So she got to spend some time with Claire before she left. Such beautiful girls.

Here's a good shot of my crooked tooth. Levi loves taking pictures, can you tell?
Who shktole myyy whishkkkey, Huh???
Oh.... there it is. Commeee hhere.

Fun

I tried to fix her demon eye but it wouldn't work. Maybe she really is possessed.

Some bling, some standing, and some..... sink?

I just finished this one today... Here's one of Claire modeling it for me (just ignore her double chin).

Yes, that's right! Claire likes to sit in the sink... She sat there while I was cleaning up the kitchen today, for maybe 15 minutes or so?

Okay, so I'm not bragging at all, if this was someone else's kid I'd be amazed as well... but Claire can seriously stand up on her own! She only needs to hold onto my fingers for balance, I'm not pulling her even a little bit, she's doing it all by herself. By the way, she can do this but she still can't roll over from her back to her tummy.

Bling Bling

So I started this little hobby to keep me somewhat busy while I'm waiting for Claire to wake up from her naps. It's been fun and everyone keeps saying that I should start a business... Well, I'm not really sure how to do that so this is my first attempt at trying to sell them. Here are just a few pictures of some that I've done for Claire and other people. If you're interested or know someone who's interested, please let me know. They make great gifts! They're $20.00 per pacifier. That may seem like a lot but it's not. After buying the beads, glue, and pacifiers plus the time it takes me to make them, $20.00 is a steal.

This was the very first one I made.Levi calls this one the 4th of July Pacifier
I Love this one. It's hard to see, I know.I made these next two for my sister's friend. I hope she likes them!

Postpartum Thyroiditis

Lately I've been dragging. I've been sooo tired but had a lot of energy at the same time. It's been hard to work out and hard to sleep. I'd wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to fall asleep for an hour and a half to two hours. One morning, Levi and I were planning on waking up at 6 to work out. Well, I didn't need an alarm because I woke up at 4:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. So I ended up staying up and working out at the planned time. I'm sure you can imagine that wasn't a very successful workout. Also, I've been eating and eating and eating some more and I have only been losing weight! I weigh less than I did before I had Claire. Yeah, I'm sure you're thinking that's awesome, but it's not. Eating can get boring after a while, especially when you can't even do it to enjoy it anymore, you literally have to eat to survive. Okay, I'm sure I wouldn't have died if I didn't eat more than usual. But still, that's what it felt like! Plus, no matter how much I eat it doesn't give me the energy I need. So, the constant eating, the anxious feelings, the sleep deprivation and the sudden weight loss took me to the doctor. They did blood work there and found that I have Postpartum Thyroiditis. That's just an overactive thyroid. Your thyroid controls your hormones which control your metabolism. If it's overactive (hyperthyroidism, yes, that's a real word) then it wears on your body making you feel very anxious and making your body work too hard. If it's left untreated it can make your eyes bulge out (ew), make your hair fall out (ew), and turn your hair grey (sort of ew but not that bad). It can also give you heart problems which can result in high blood pressure, heart arithmia, heart failure, and coma. Luckily, I'm fully aware of how my body's supposed to be acting. They were able to catch it quickly and treat it. I am now on medication to control my thyroid and hopefully get me back to normal. Maybe soon I can start running again. I haven't been able to run because the cold has been hard on my lungs (that never used to be a problem). So for all you people who look at me and say, "Wow! It doesn't even look like you've had a baby!" Don't feel bad... it's not natural and I'll probably be gaining weight in a few weeks.
