Oh what fun it is to ride in a two man sled-aled

This past Saturday Levi and I went to my parents house to help them wrap some presents that needed to be shipped out to relatives. I LOVE wrapping presents so if anyone needs some help, call me. Anyway, after we finished, we decided it would be fun to take Claire sledding for the first time! She LOVED it. On her way down she would go, "Weeeeeeee" and then laugh when she got to the bottom. It was the cutest thing ever.

First she went with Levi
Then me
Then my mom
Afterwards, we made some fudge. We do it every year for Christmas. It was really fun but my sister didn't get to come 'cause she was sick with the flu. :(
I love Christmas so much and I love spending it with family. It doesn't feel like Christmas when I'm not with them. I'm excited for my brother to come out next week with his new fiance! Then everything will be perfect.

Things I love right now...

Oh, Christmas Tree
Oh, Christmas Tree
How lovely are thy branches!
(what? that's not how it goes?)
Claire knowing she's cute.
The squatting position.
Claire helping Levi with the laundry.
And I love my curtains but apparently there are Jurtains in the Curtains 'cause it won't let me upload the picture. Sucks to be you guys 'cause you won't be able to see how amazingly awesome they are.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

That title doesn't really have anything to do with my post. Levi was just singing it so it's in my head. Only his version goes a little like this, "It's a half decent time, yes a somewhat enjoyable time, of the year." Oh, what a fungi.

Anyway, here are some pictures of what Claire's been up to lately...

Pondering on Curbs. She's very deep.
Wiping food all over herself. "Uh, maybe that was a bad idea."
Looking at the ornaments and saying "Oohhh."
She likes it when I put the little hair that she has into clips/hair ties.
She carries this in her mouth all the time while she's doing other things.
She kept climbing up the ladder to help Levi put the lights up.
If she falls down, she just lays like this as if she meant to do it.
She now models for JCrew. They have a children's line now. They created it just so they could have Claire as their model.
She thinks it's "cool" to hang out in freezers. HAHAHAHA.
Stay tuned, I'll be posting pictures of our Christmas decorations and our awesome new curtains. But then again, I might not.

Claire and Jewelry-Love/Hate relationship

Here's Claire having fun with the jewelry, taking it out of the box, putting it back in. Just loving it.
All of a sudden she turns on it. She hates it and wants it off. Literally, this happened in a split second. Babies are so funny with their emotions.

Nothin' Much

I don't have anything to post about really. But I thought it was time to update my blog. Say hi to Claire!

Yes, I'm going private as well!!!

I'm going private a week from TODAY (maybe a week and a half. Maybe two). Leave your e-mail even if I don't know you. 'Cause you might want to stalk our family since you knew Levi from high school or something. Or you think I'm SO HOT and you like my body. Or you just think I'm the smartest person EVER and you think you'll get stupider by the day if you don't read my blog. K. The End.

Obama-Be Positive

Last night I was in a terrible rut. I almost considered not voting at all, today. I wrote about it in my journal even, and read about it later that night. I kept going back and forth about what I should do. Two years ago, before I even heard Obama's name from anyone (which, I certainly should have considering he was a senator from Illinois and I lived there for 8 years), I read an article about the people who were going to run for President and I KNEW he needed to be the one. I just got this feeling, it was immediate and I couldn't ignore it. It was even before Levi had said anything about him (I say this because there have been a lot of times I just say things because he's said them). I went home and told him that I just loved Obama already and thought he had the greatest outlook on things. I feel that this is an AMAZING time; especially for African-Americans but also for everyone else who ISN'T white. Because now they know that they have a chance, that they're not being ignored. I think that's very important, because that's what America's about. America has always been made up of different people from all over and that's what makes America so great. This is also an amazing time for young people. They know now that they can also be heard. It's amazing for that 106 year old woman, Barack was talking about, who was alive a generation after slavery. When she couldn't even vote. I think of my Grandparents who HATE Obama (haha) that they have a chance to possibly soften their hearts, try to be more open-minded and perhaps support their new President.

To all of those who are afraid of Obama being President. He's not a bad guy. His father left their family when he was a child, his mother and grandmother raised him and they were so poor. The fact he went through all of that and still became the great man he is now; He overcame that and became THE FREAKING PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, is just amazing. He's helped so many poor and black people it's amazing. He's worked so hard and he's never accepted ANY money from lobbyists.

I'm so excited about this election and I'm glad I was alive to witness it. I couldn't help but have the most amazing feelings while I was watching this event on television. Even now, I'm getting butterflies in my stomach just writing about it (even though most of you feel like throwing up. Maybe you're just confusing those feelings with butterflies. Yes, that must be it).

Going back to the rut I was in; I remembered all of the qualities I loved about Obama and realized that I didn't need to think about it anymore. I had made up my mind 2 years ago when I first read about him and was considering who I should watch during this time period. He's the one, he WILL bring change. And despite what most of you think, that change will not be for the worse. Keep your head up and be positive. Be so grateful you were here during this time and have faith that Heavenly Father is looking out for us! Because he loves us and wants nothing more than for us to be happy.

I just want to say one more thing. McCain's speech that he gave was awesome. He didn't say one negative thing about Obama. He knew that Obama being elected was a positive thing and I admire that. He didn't try and have a pity-party for himself either. He knew he tried his hardest and he did all that he could and that, too, is admirable. He did a great job (aside from the negative campaigning) and I really wouldn't have minded if he had been elected for president instead of Obama. They both were good candidates and it was refreshing to see that.

P.S. Does anyone else think that Michelle Obama looks like a black version of Sigourney Weaver?

I LOVE FALLLLLL!!!!

Okay, guess where I went AGAIN. Come on, just think really hard. "Where does Stephanie go once a week" I'll give you a hint: It's free, it has animals, and it's an outside activity. YES! THAT'S RIGHT!! WHEELER FARM! This time, my mom came with me so she could keep Claire occupied while I took pictures. Look how pretty it looks there!! I wished someone would have raked up all of the leaves and made huge piles for everyone to jump in.

So Incredible.

Okay, I want you ALL to check out this girl. Sarah Rhoads. Her link is on my blog list. Sarahrhoadsphotography. She's AMAZING. She mostly shoots engagement photos and weddings but every now and then she'll do some fashion and family photos. She even shoots for bands and stuff. How do I know her? I went to high school with her (she even tried dating my sort-of-but-not-really ex-boyfriend, I'm sure some of you know what kind of situation I'm talking about). Anyway, she has the best personality ever. She's just an amazing photographer and she's totally inspired me. I've always been really into photography, reading here and there, waiting for the day to come when I could get a REAL camera. Well, since seeing her stuff it's pushed me to just take that next step. So I bought a camera. I'm in the process of buying editing software, lighting, etc. Hopefully soon I'll be able to take a few classes/workshops. It's a really expensive hobby but hopefully it'll turn into more than that. So look at her stuff and just be ready for some of the best engagement/wedding photos you'll ever see.

The Weekend

So for once we did something every single day of the weekend. I mean, it's fun having a family night one day out of the weekend but every once in a while it's nice to fill every minute of the weekend up with fun.

Let's start with Thursday night. Levi won tickets to the pre-season Jazz game from a radio station. He didn't really have to do anything, they were advertising it on Facebook and he just had to be one of the first 50 to respond and he was! So we got free appetizers at Z Tejas (so good) and got to watch a free game! On the train ride home I definitely got hit on by this little nerdy boy who was a freshmen in college. It was AWESOME! haha. So Levi, being the hilarious husband that he is (not) tried his hardest to hide his wedding ring so he wouldn't know we were married. Anyway, I felt so bad for the guy 'cause it took a lot of guts but, I just wasn't feelin' it.
(^Me on the train ride down, psyched for the game)
(^this is Levi giving me a dirty look 'cause this was the 4th time attempting to take a picture of him standing in front of the court)

Friday night we went to a Jordan High School football game. Yup, that's right. We hung out with all of the awesome high schoolers. It was so weird being back to that kind of a crowd and seeing how all the high schoolers cared so much about what people thought of them and how they looked and stuff. But also, seeing how they just didn't care what adults thought and had their fun. It was actually pretty fun, though. I didn't go to Jordan and I was never a cheerleader but I was still having fun making up cheers. "Jordan is Dynamite, Jordan is Dynamite, Go, Go, Go Jordan!" That's a cheer, right?
(^Shane and Heidi at the game)

(^Levi and me looking GREAT at the game)

(^Here's Adam and... ohhh, poor Adam)

Saturday during the day my nephew had his 1st birthday party. It was so cute. Sadly, though, he burned his finger on the candle and started crying during "Happy Birthday". So it took him a little bit to trust the cupcake after that. But he got the cutest clothes and some sweet toys, it was awesome.
Saturday night Levi and I hosted a World Series party. It was fun. I don't have any pictures but I'm sure you guys can use your imaginations. We were pretty much eating, sitting and watching the game. It was a good time. Boo all you other people who couldn't come! I kid. We didn't want you there anyway. HAHAHAHA!

Happy Birthday Claire!

I know, I know, I've read lots of blogs that say, "Wow, I can't believe it's been a year already!" but it's true!! I really can't believe it. Levi and I were saying how it's weird that we were married for 3 years before Claire even came but it seems like she's just always been in our family. She's just always been apart of our lives, and that's how I know she was meant to be in our family. We have been SO blessed to have her with us and every day we are so grateful for her presence. (that sounded lame but I didn't know how else to say it). Everyone's blessed with a talent and hers right now by far is making everyone smile. No matter where we are and no matter who sees her everyone always ends up smiling because of her. She brings joy to everyone's lives and it makes me happy to see her at work. She's one of the smartest babies I know. She loves to be read to more than anything, she's starting to understand things that I say, and she's starting to give hugs and kisses and I love it. Oh, and did I mention that she LOVES throwing things down the stairs? She's doing it as I'm typing right now.

Anyway, to celebrate her day of birth (ha ha) on Thursday we had a little party for her. She got a lot of books, which was AWESOME and a few toys.

Cheyenne got her a shopping cart and she insists on sitting in it. So I put her in it and run around outside pushing her.
My mom got her a little piano and she stomps her foot whenever the music comes on.

On her actually birthday, on Friday, Levi left work early to come home and have a family day for Claire's birthday. We went to Wheeler Historic Farm and Claire loved it! She mostly loved walking along the dirt paths and playing with the leaves but she also loved the animals. At first she was a little hesitant but then she warmed up and kept wanting to go look at them. It was such a great day! That place is so awesome for little kids, plus it's free, which is even cooler.
We love our Bear more than anything in the world and we're so glad she's here with us!! I just hope I don't screw anything up.
